Should influencers be held to ethical standards and accountability?

Unlike journalists or public figures, many influencers aren't bound by ethical guidelines or held accountable for the impact of their content. They can promote dangerous diets, misinform their audiences, or encourage risky behavior—all without much consequence.

Should there be some kind of regulation or at least community-agreed ethics that influencers follow? How do we hold them responsible when their influence causes harm?
